Starting a Construction Business

Starting a business is a challenge to anyone who tries it.  You need to have a clear idea of what you want to achieve and the first question to ask yourself is always “What do you want your life to look like?”  Then you need to stick a time period on that – a year, three years, five years. You can do all this in your head at the moment – there is a lot of storage space in there and it saves time not to have to keep changing things you’ve written.  Do the thinking when you are able to – out walking the dog, driving to work - or if you’re not working, instead of watching daytime TV! Now you have to put some detail into the picture.  Ask yourself some very personal questions.  Really be honest when you answer. What is your life like now – work, home, family, money? Are you (really) happy with the way things are?  If not – why not? (If you are, why change?)
